Bamboo plant in the Meridian Wellness waiting room — a calming space for GNM-informed emotional processing and nervous system

German New Medicine

German New Medicine (GNM), developed by Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer, is a mind–body framework that views symptoms as part of meaningful biological programs. These programs are thought to begin at the moment of a significant emotional shock (something unexpected, isolating, and difficult to process),  often called a “conflict.” Once that conflict resolves or safety is restored, the body transitions into a healing phase.

At Look Within Holistic Coaching, we approach GNM as a reflective, non-medical lens — a way to explore emotional patterns and body-mind connections with curiosity and care. We don’t use it as diagnosis or treatment, but as a tool to help reduce fear and make sense of what your body might be expressing.

For more detailed GNM education, we recommend LearningGNM.

Conflict vs. Healing
Understanding the Two Phases

Conflict-Active Phase

  • Triggered by a sudden emotional shock

  • Feels like: overdrive, cool extremities, restlessness, looping thoughts

  • Daily life: pushing through stress, feeling disconnected from body sensations

Healing Phase (post-conflict)

  • Begins when the shock is resolved or support returns

  • Feels like: warm, tired, inflamed, emotional

  • Often shows up in two waves:

    • Repair A: swelling, fatigue, emotional release

    • Reset Peak: a brief intense flare (like a headache or fever spike)

    • Repair B: gradual recovery, renewed energy

This model helps people understand why symptoms often appear after stress eases; not during the crisis. The body finally feels safe enough to repair.

Examples

GNM‑informed reflections are for self‑inquiry. This is educational only and not medical advice.

Always follow your own best judgment and any clinicians you choose.

Jane — Breast Glad Swelling After a Crisis

  • Trigger: Her teen’s medical scare, which she faced alone

  • Conflict-Active Phase: Jane stayed alert and high-functioning for weeks

  • Healing Phase: Once her teen stabilized, she felt deep fatigue and developed tenderness/swelling in her breast

How can coaching help? We focus on emotional processing, nervous system support, and building trust in the body without replacing any medical care.

Sam — Skin Rash After a Breakup

  • Trigger: A sudden separation that felt emotionally shocking

  • Conflict-Active Phase: Numbness, restlessness, dry skin

  • Healing Phase: Rash appears after closure or reconnection, usually when relaxing

How can coaching help? We identify emotional tracks (songs, places, memories), regulate responses, and support the skin’s healing through gentle routines.

How Recalibrate Coaching Supports GNM Integration

This work is not about diagnosing or treating. It’s about helping you process the emotional roots of what’s showing up in your body and making empowered, grounded decisions. Together, we can:

Identify underlying conflict themes and patterns

Regulate your nervous system to shift out of stress mode

Process grief, fear, and other emotions with compassion

Create simple, personalized tools to support your healing

You stay in charge of your care. We support the inner work.
